Urban India faces persistent challenges including littering, stray animal welfare,
hit-and-run incidents, and hazardous waste disposal. This research proposes an AI-powered
Smart CCTV System that combines YOLOv8 object detection and deep learning techniques to
monitor public spaces in real time. The system identifies civic violations, detects injured
stray animals, recognizes hit-and-run events, and classifies hazardous waste, generating
automated alerts for relevant authorities. By integrating intelligent surveillance with smart
city infrastructure, the proposed solution aims to improve public safety, cleanliness, and urban management.
